4901 Finned Aluminum Differential Cover for GM 10-Bolt 8.5 in.
A die-cast aluminum rear differential cover for GM 10-bolt axles with an 8.5 in. ring gear. Large vertical fins help shed heat, the cover adds about 1/2 quart of oil capacity, and the machined gasket flange gives a clean seal. Semi-gloss black finish.
- Fits GM 8.5 in. 10-bolt rear differentials
- About 1/2 qt extra oil capacity
- Large cooling fins; machined gasket flange
- 1/2 in. NPT drain plug; 5/16 in.-18 × 1 in. bolts
Before you order:
- No fill hole in the cover; on these axles the fill plug is on the side of the differential case.
- Will not work on 2007-and-newer 8.6 in. differentials that need a fill plug in the cover (those use M8 × 1.25 metric bolts).
- Not for front truck differentials. The stabilizer or sway bar may not clear on some models, especially the 2005 Tahoe.
