Intake manifolds for 1987–1991 Chevrolet and GMC R/V trucks: the last years of the "square body" pickups (R10/V10, R20/V20, R30/V30, and the later R/V 1500–3500 names) and the R/V Suburban, with the 305 or 350 small block. These engines came with throttle-body injection (TBI) and 1987-and-later cylinder heads.
Every Haytalras intake manifold is cast and CNC-machined in our own factory, then checked for air-tightness, dimensions and finish before it is packed. Orders ship within 24 hours on business days from our warehouses in Ontario, California and Bloomingdale, Georgia, with free US shipping.
In 1987 GM changed the small block heads: the four center intake bolts are angled instead of straight. An intake made only for 1986-and-earlier heads will not bolt on correctly, so these trucks need an intake that fits the 1987–1995 heads. Every manifold on this page does. For the full explanation, read SBC TBI vs 4-Barrel Intake: What Fits 1987–1995 Heads.
| Engine | Intakes that fit | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 305 / 350 small block, 1987–1991 heads | 2104, 2001 | Low-rise dual plane; 2001 also takes a spread-bore Quadrajet |
| 305 / 350 small block, 1987–1991 heads | 2013, 2026, 2021, 2031 | Square-bore (4150) carburetor |
| 305 / 350, converting to multi-port EFI | 300-260 | Needs injectors, throttle body and engine management |
| 454 big block (R30/V30, R/V 3500) | 3037 | Oval port heads |
Not for these trucks: the 2701, 2703, 8150 and 7137, which are made for 1955–1986 heads only. To check your exact truck, use Shop by Vehicle at the top of this page or email us.
• Stock or mild street truck, carb conversion: the 2104 low-rise dual plane, made specifically for 1987–1995 heads, or the 2001 if you want to run a Quadrajet.
• Budget dual plane for a towing or daily truck: the 2013 (idle to 5,500 RPM).
• Street performance: the 2026 Air-Gap for a cooler intake charge, or the 2021 high-rise dual plane (1,500–6,500 RPM).
• Higher-RPM build: the 2031 high-rise single plane (3,000–7,500 RPM).
• Moving to multi-port fuel injection: the 300-260. You will also need injectors, a fuel rail, a throttle body and an engine management system.
• Leaving TBI: these are 4-barrel (4150) intakes, so the factory TBI unit does not bolt on. Plan for a 4-barrel carburetor or a 4150-flange throttle-body EFI kit, plus the fuel-pressure and ignition changes that go with it. Our TBI guide covers the checklist.
• Emissions: these manifolds are for off-road and racing use. Check your state's emissions rules before installing on a registered vehicle.
Yes, it is the same square body truck. GM renamed the old body style R (2WD) and V (4WD) when the new C/K trucks arrived, but the 1987 trucks already use the newer heads, so they need an intake that fits 1987-and-later heads.
Only if it fits both head types, like every intake on this page. The 2701, 2703, 8150 and 7137 are for 1986-and-earlier heads only. See the 1975–1986 C10/K10 page if your truck still has the older heads.
Email us the year, engine and head casting number and we will confirm fitment before you order.
