4-barrel intake manifolds for Jeeps with the AMC V8: the CJ5, CJ6 and CJ7 with the 304, and the full-size SJ Jeeps (J10 and J20 pickups, Cherokee, Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer) with the 360 or 401. All AMC V8s from 1970 on share the same intake pattern, so both manifolds on this page fit the 304, 360 and 401.
Both are cast and CNC-machined in our own factory and leak-tested before they ship. We ship from California and Georgia within 24 hours on business days, free within the US.
| Jeep | Engine | Intakes that fit |
|---|---|---|
| 1972–1981 CJ5, CJ6; 1976–1981 CJ7 | 304 (5.0L) | 2131, 7531 |
| 1974–1983 Cherokee and Wagoneer; 1984–1991 Grand Wagoneer; J10 / J20 pickups | 360 (5.9L) | 2131, 7531 |
| 1974–1978 Cherokee, Wagoneer, J10 / J20 | 401 (6.6L) | 2131, 7531 |
The same intakes also fit AMC cars with these engines, such as the Javelin and AMX; see our AMC intake page. Not for the 4.0L inline six or for the 1966–1969 AMC V8s with the earlier head design.
• Trail rig, towing or stock-style rebuild: the 2131 dual plane for low and mid-range torque.
• Built 360 or 401: the 7531 Air-Gap keeps the intake charge cooler for more power on the street.
• Carburetor: most of these Jeeps came with a 2-barrel carburetor. Both intakes take a 4-barrel (4150 square-bore) carburetor, so plan the carb, throttle linkage and kickdown (on automatics) along with the intake.
• Hood and air cleaner: check air cleaner clearance on CJ models, which have a low, flat hood.
• Emissions: for off-road and racing use. Check your state's rules before installing on a registered vehicle.
Yes. They share the AMC V8 block and head design from 1970 on, so the same intake fits all three.
